This information is applicable to anyone participating in the Mount Eliza Cup.
WHO CAN ENTER THE CUP?
All clubs with community teams are welcome to participate in the Mount Eliza Cup. Unfortunately we do not currently accept NPL or Academy teams into the cup. With just over 300 teams participating in 2025, our goal is to give as many Community teams the opportunity to take part and compete in one of Victoria’s biggest Community tournaments.
WHAT'S THE ADDRESS FOR THE TOURNAMENT?
The cup is located on the Mornington Peninsula (about 50kms from Melbourne CBD) and is the gateway to the Peninsula. The Cup will be hosted at the Mount Eliza Secondary College grounds at 204 Canadian Bay rd, Mount Eliza. Access to this venue is predominantly via Canadian Bay rd where most of the parking is located. We are also very excited to announce that for the first time in the Cup's history Emil Madsen Reserve , 261 Wooralla Drive, Mount Eliza, will also be a hosting venue.
DOES THE TOURNAMENT HAVE INSURANCE?
All players from Community teams (registered in an FV competition) are covered under FV insurance.

U7 Mixed division will permit one (1) player who is 12 months older than the permitted age cut off.
U12, U13, U14, U15, U16/U17 Boys divisions will not cater for overage players*.
*Where a player has been granted dispensation from Football Victoria we may consider the request for a maximum of 1 player at our discretion. Written dispensaton must be provided upon application.
U8, U9, U10 and U11 Boys divisions will be able to apply for a maximum of (1) dispensations per team as follows:
1. One (1) player who is no more than 12 months older than the permitted age cut-off (for example if the player is born in 2016 he can apply to play in the U9 competition)
It is important to note that in both of the cases above the following conditions must apply for a dispensation to be considered:
- The player be registered in the 2026 winter season with the team that’s making the dispensation request
- A note outlining the reason for the players inclusion in the team must be submitted when registering the player. You can email footballcomms@mountelizasoccerclub.com.au if you have any questions before registering.
- If a Football Victoria (or equivalent) written dispensation has been granted it must be emailed to footballcomms@mountelizasoccerclub.com.au
U14-16 Girls can have up to three (3) players.
All other Girls divisions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, all requests must be completed online and any supporting documentation must be submitted by email to footballcomms@mountelizasoccerclub.com.au
Girls are allowed to play in boys’ age groups one year younger than the age cut off without dispensation. The application will still need to be completed online, please state the reason as "female player".
Any age dispensation requests need to be submitted at least 10 days before the tournament once all players in the team are registered. Each application will be treated on a case-by-case basis and approval received via Cup Manager. Overage players cannot play until they have been officially approved in the Cup Manager portal. Tournament Management reserves the right to apply any conditions it deems reasonable.
Team managers and coaches must ensure all players are the correct age for their age group and have the necessary documentation in case they are required to provide it to prove a player’s age.
Players are allowed to participate in more than one team, as long as they are not in the same age group and they meet the necessary age requirements. i.e. an U12 player can play in an U13 and U12 comp but not in two U12 teams regardless of Premiers or Champions or Community.
Girls' teams are eligible to play in a younger boys’ age group at the discretion of Tournament Management. For example, an U14 girl's team can play in an U13 boys’ age group, where a suitable girls competition is not available. If the next available age group in the boys’ competition is not offered, the team may be placed in an alternative category in order to provide the most appropriate level of competition to the teams involved.
ARE THERE GRADINGS WITHIN EACH AGE GROUP?
Some of the age groups have been classified into Premiers, Champions & Community competitions. These have been set up in order to place teams at their appropriate level and make the games more competitive across the board.
PREMIERS is for Kangaroo and A/B level metro teams
CHAMPIONS is for Wallabies and C/D/E level Metro teams, J
COMMUNITY is for Joeys.
For teams coming from outside of Victoria, higher level teams should participate in the PREMIERS division. Please contact us prior to registering if you are unsure on which division to enter into.
Tournament Management may decide to split the division closer to the event subject to team entries and the standard of the teams entered.
WILL MY TEAM GET A REFUND IF WE NEED TO WITHDRAW FROM THE COMPETITION?
If you withdraw your team 14 days prior to your scheduled games then you will be eligible for a full refund (less a $25 admin fee). If you are withdrawing within 14 days of your scheduled games please contact footballcomms@mountelizasoccerclub.com.au to work out what refund you may be due.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE TOURNAMENT IS POSTPONED OR CANCELLED. WILL OUR TEAM GET A REFUND?
Under these circumstances, the tournament organisers reserve the right to either retain the registration fee for the revised dates or to refund the registration fee after deducting an administration fee for costs already incurred for the organisation of the tournament which could not be recovered from third parties.
Should this occur teams will be contacted directly.
